Fine Luglio (un assaggio delle vacanze estive), luogo: la città di Ginevra. Una cara coppia di amici che abita in questa elegante città mi ha invitato a trascorrere un weekend con loro per scoprirla e trascorrere un po’ di tempo insieme. Alla fine, che dirvi? Ginevra è tante cose:

End of July (a taste of the summer holidays), location: the city of Geneva. A couple of dear friends who live in this elegant city invited me to spend a weekend with them to discover the place and spend some time together. At the end, what can I say to you? Geneva is so many things:

Finales de julio (saboreando las vacaciones de verano), lugar: la ciudad de Ginebra. Una pareja de queridos amigos que viven en esta elegante ciudad me invitó a pasar un fin de semana con ellos para descubrirla y pasar un poco de tiempo juntos. Después de todo, que les puedo contar? E’ un interessante giro al Palais des Nations, la sede europea dell’ONU, per conoscere la storia e rendersi davvero conto del complesso lavoro che svolge la più grande organizzazione intergovernativa del pianeta.

Is an interesting tour of the Palais des Nations, the European headquarters of the UN, to know the history and truly reflect about the complex work that plays the largest intergovernmental organization on the planet.

Is to get inside and stroll through the streets of the old town and marvel at each corner with pieces of history that still are there to tell us how we got to today.

Trains, modelling, history: At the exhibition of the Rivarossi.

Chi non ama viaggiare in treno? Forse chi non lo ha mai fatto, perché una volta che lo si fa non si può che provare questo sentimento per il trasporto su rotaie. Bene, c’è chi per molti anni si è occupato di portare questo amore al mondo del modellismo e contagiare migliaia di appassionati creando bellissimi modelli ferroviari che riproducono fedelmente gli originali: Rivarossi.

La storica (e famosa nel settore) ditta costruttrice originale non esiste più (è stata acquisita dalla inglese Hornby) e per chi volesse conoscere il suo interessante percorso storico può documentarsi qui.

Tra il 14 e il 28 di Aprile 2013 è stata organizzata una mostra al Palazzo del Broletto, a Como, con una raccolta di importanti esemplari, molti dei quali con un valore storico ed economico molto alto (da veri collezionisti). Sono andato a fare un giro e ho fatto qualche scatto. Non è stato facile fotografare questa mostra poiché si trattava di elementi piccoli, la maggior parte esposti all’interno di vetrine, circondate da molte persone. Comunque si tratta di bei oggetti ai quali, con del tempo, spazio e attrezzature a disposizione (un cavalletto e luci adeguate ad esempio), si possono fare fotografie molto interessanti.

Who does not love to travel by train? Perhaps those who have not ever done, because once you do that you can not feel anger for the transport on rails. Well, there are those who for many years has been involved in bringing this love to the world of railways model and infect thousands of fans creating beautiful railway models that faithfully reproduce the originals, I’m talking of Rivarossi.

The historic (and famous in the industry) original manufacturer no longer exists (it was captured by the English Hornby) and for those who want to know his interesting historical path can read up here (in italian).

Between 14 and 28 April there was organized an exhibition at Palazzo del Broletto, Como, with a collection of important specimens, many of which are of historical value and cost very high (for real collectors). I went to the exhibit an took some pictures. It was not easy to photograph there because it was about small elements, most exhibited in shop windows, surrounded by many people. However those are beautiful objects to which, with time, space and equipment available (a tripod and adequate lighting, for example), you can take very interesting pictures.

A quién no le gusta viajar en tren? Tal vez a los que no lo han hecho nunca, porque una vez experimentado, no se no amar viajar sobre rieles. Bueno, pues hay quien durante muchos años ha estado trabajando en transmitir ese amor al mundo del modelismo logrando contagiar a miles de aficionados con modelos de ferrocarril realmente hermosos que reproducen fielmente los originales, se trata de la Rivarossi.

El histórico fabricante original (famoso en la industria) ya no existe (fue absorbido por la inglesa Hornby) y para aquellos que quieran conocer su interesante recorrido histórico, se puede leer aquí (en italiano).

Entre el 14 y 28 de abril se organizó una exposición en el Palazzo del Broletto, en Como, con una colección de ejemplares importantes, muchos de los cuales tienen un valor histórico y un costo muy alto (para verdaderos coleccionistas ). Fui a dar un paseo y tomé algunas fotos. No fue fácil porque se trata de elementos pequeños, la mayoría exhibidos dentro escaparates, rodeados de mucha gente. Sin embargo son bellos objetos a los que, con el tiempo, el espacio y el equipamiento necesario (un trípode y una adecuada iluminación, por ejemplo), se les puede tomar fotos muy interesantes.
